Product Description
The Broadcom Emulex® LPe35002-M2 is a dual-port, Gen 7 PCIe 4.0 Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter designed for demanding all-flash arrays, NVMe-optimized data centers, and mission-critical workloads. Powered by the Emulex XE601 I/O controller and an eight-core, sixteen-thread Dynamic Multi-core Architecture, the adapter dynamically applies ASIC resources to whichever port needs them, autonegotiating 32GFC, 16GFC, and 8GFC link speeds with a field upgrade path to 64GFC via hot-pluggable optics kits. Two active 32GFC ports deliver up to 12,800 MB/s full-duplex throughput and over 5 million IOPS, with up to 3x better hardware latency than the prior generation. Concurrent support for NVMe over Fibre Channel (FC-NVMe) and SCSI FCP enables a measured transition to end-to-end NVMe SANs, while port aggregation (trunking) lets both ports combine into a single high-bandwidth logical path for data-intensive workloads such as VM migration. A hardware Silicon Root of Trust, signed firmware and drivers, and UEFI Secure Boot guard against tampering, and the adapter is rated for a 10 million hour field MTBF.
